Still, there is a gap to bridge between Obama and Republicans, who want to essentially privatize Medicare and Medicaid while offering tax cuts to the wealthy. The Wall Street Journal says Obama's proposal "caught Democrats in Congress off guard."
What's your take?
Raise taxes on the people who have the ability to pump money into the economy if only you'll let them have their money? That makes no sense.
That is ridiculous, and proven to be false. We have been trying this for thirty years, it doesn't work. They have the ability to pump it into the economy, but they don't. The businesses hoard it, the people save it. They couldn't possibly pump all that money back into the economy. It's the middle class who pumps all of their money back into the economy. Everyone can't keep crying about the deficit, but only think it can be fixed with spending cuts, and not address the revenue problem.

Interesting. Sounds like pre-election babble. Didn't he say the same thing before he was elected? And what exactly did he do about it in the two years he had a filibuster proof super-majority? All talk, no walk. I have to hand it to him though, he sure knows how to tell his base what they want to hear. LOL.
