Screaming baby

My daughter is 3 months (well will be on the 17th). She's been super cranky and I don't know what to do. I've been giving her infant tylenol and ibprophen (alternating). At first I thought she had a ear infection (she was pulling on her ears but stopped) and now I think she's teething since she keeps rubbing her gums. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas about what could be the problem?

  • google happiest baby on the block, try the 5 s's.....I can't remember all of them but swaddling, shooshing, swinging....anyways it works really well for fussy babies. White noise is really good too.... good luck.

  • Did you take her to the DR to rule out the ear infection? Does she have a fever? my son used to get extra fussy ( he had colic til 6 months so it was hard to tell ) during growth spurts - some babies sleep more, he was the extreme opposite..

  • Did her pedi advise you to give her ibuprofen? The box does say 6-23 months.

  • i just checked her and she was 96.9°. i'm actually taking her to the dr tomorrow but if this keeps up and doesn't get better i might take her to the ER but i don't want to if i don't have to.

  • Sounds like you're doing everything you can. If all else fails, don't forget about your sanity though. lol Walk away from your DD for 5 minutes and regroup. Don't ever forget, she can tell when you're stressed. My 2nd of 5 cried 24/7 till he was about 9mos old. We had some good days and some really really bad days....but now its a distant memory I can chuckle at. Good Luck!!

  • i would think teething or gas from what you've written. try giving her some gas drops or a cold washcloth to chew on.

  • if she has no fever (make sure to check again after her pain meds wear off then i wouldn't take her tonight.
