How to get started planting a vegetable garden....?

I haven't got a clue how to start doing this! Can anyone sum this up in idiot101 terms for me? I would like to plant some tomatoes, cucumbers, some herbs, etc. Thanks!

  • Plan your area making sure it gets plenty of sun. Turn the soil over with a tiller (rental) or shovel. Shake out all the grass saving the soil. Rake and start planting. Some people use soil enhancements/fertilizers that you can get at Home Depot. You may need to protect the area from rabbits, deer, etc. We do container gardening on our deck because of all the rabbits around here. GL

  • Have you tried looking online "planting a vegetable garden for dummies"? I bet you'd be surprised what you find. Good luck!
