If you do not use your foodstamp monthy allotment, does it roll over for the next month?

or are you penalized for it and your monthly allotment goes down? im asking because we just got approved and the monthly amount is very generous right now im used to spending $15/per week less. i heard with wic if you don't get everything on the check they start taking that stuff off the check. is it the same for foodstamps, or will it just roll over? TIA

  • yeah it rolls over. I"ve never had it happen to me, but some one i know in another area got a warning letter stating that if she didn't use all of it they were going to reduce it, after a few months of her not using it all. I never use all of mine nad haven't gotten a letter yet.

  • It rolls over, WIC doesn't take the stuff off, the checks change as the child grows.
