  • Exactly 150 years ago today, April 12, 1861, the first shots were fired in the U.S. Civil War, when confederate forces in Charleston, South Carolina, fired on Union forces holding Fort Sumter, which was located in Charleston Harbor.

  • I just thought sesquicentennial was a fun word for the day, and it was a big day in our country's history. And it's about TODAY, as there are remembrances going on throughout the country, so it's a CURRENT EVENT people. I just had to move it back. So, just giving points and BA for the first one who got it right. :-)
