A military question

lol silly question but boggles my mind. You know in those war movies when tere a person talking on the phone giving corrdinates or something....where is that call going to? I mean i know it is going to a dispatcher but like where is the dispatcher...are they in that country, a few towns over, back here in the US?

And what is the purpose of the phone...I mean I get it if they are attacked it is to tell someone HELP!!!! but like can they get info via that phone?

Also is that only in old school movies? Do they use cellphones now? (really).

  • Cell phone signals can be intercepted, they dont use them for operations

  • Its not a phone that they are using it is a radio.....and yes they still use them. They signal goes to the base....if the base is the one calling through the radio then they call another base for support. As far as the cordinates they are giving that is to tell the person on the other end where they are and where they need to send some help.
