Any opinions on what to go to school for in the medical field?

  • There are so many different avenues to take in the medical field that it really depends on what you like to do. If you work well under stress and like helping sick people then go into nursing. Or you could go into research if that is your forte. I like the health care environment but I don't like to be around sick people (LOL) so I went to school for Health Services Administration. I'd rather be behind the scenes and push paper all day... ultimately it depends on you.

  • Physical therapist is good if you don't like dealing with needles. Occupational therapy is great if you like helping people to relearn how to do things, there are tons of great medical jobs. Always wanted to be a nurse, but college schedule never worked with school hours. Tried to be a Medical Assistant but again schedule problems. If you have babysitters or don't need them, go have a great time and get a great recession proof job! Very rewarding but tiring work being a nurse.
