  • Leap Frog Fridge Phonics.
    Crayons.
    Board books.
    Alphabet letter foam tub toys.
Foam building blocks (don't hurt when they are thrown or when the tower falls on you)

  • Melissa and Doug toys( wooden toys). I love these. Kids learn the most from toys that do the least. They had an article in US this past weekend on classic toys. We're getting our DD(13 mths) wooden blocks from M& D. They also have a play doe set that we will get for our DS. It has wooden rolling pin etc and wooden train set. Also, the geometric trio set (from Target, also a M& D). Books ( hardback) for DD. We need toys that are going to last, that is why we are going with M& D. They are collective toys, since they will be used by three children.

I guess it depends what you want the toys to do and want your child to learn. Kids learn more from their parents then some interactive toy.
