Do you cook for your family...?

ahead of time if you are going out of town?

Generally I let my husband figure it out, which means a lot of take out and frozen crap, hot pockets and chicken nuggets. But now we are on a tight budget because he lost his job, so I cooked a ton of food today, so they can heat it up and eat it while I am gone.

Do you cook ahead or let them fend for themselves?

  • I usually make sure that I have either cooked or have something planned for them to eat.

  • I shop before I leave so there's plenty of food. My husband is a great cook so fortunately I don't have to cook. Sorry to hear about your husbands job loss :(

  • No, my DH is a wonderful cook so I don't need to. Not that I go out of town without my family, because I hardly ever do.

  • I would have but we needed to grocery shop before I left. They ate a lot of fish sticks, mac and cheese and whatever else he could make from what little we had. BTW I was gone 6 days and had to grocery shop after I got home. I have been home a week now.

  • I am a stay home mom now. In the past when I did work I would rather cook and have stuff ready for them. My husband is great on the grill! Just not in the kitchen. He makes easy things and skips the veggies. So sweet for trying though/
