When you mail an item you've sold on ebay do you use your real name or....

do you only put your ebay profile name on the return address? I've been putting my real name but wondering what others do.

  • Although I've never sold anything, as an ebay buyer, I always use my name once I've completed a sale. If I'm doing business with them, then it is a courtesy to let the seller know my name.

  • I put my real name on the package. I put a packing slip with my user name in the package in case they bought the same item from different sellers, that way they know they have received my item I sent them.

  • I actually do both. I put my username on line 1 and my real name on line 2... followed by my street address. That's the proper way to address it and I'm a stickler when it comes to mailing etiquette - for some odd ball reason...

  • If giving them your home address bothers you - put their address as the return and mailing addresses.

  • I always put my real name on there. If I was savvy, I would have some cutesy little name touting my "business".

  • There is really no difference since they have your address anyway.
