At what age and/or weight does a child no longer need to be in a booster seat? I know some states are different, just curious. I live in NY. My 7 yr old is about 50 lbs. He still climbs right into his booster seat, and that's okay with me, I feel he's safer and he can see out the window better. But how BIG is TOO big?

Age is NOT the factor. Size is. They have to not only be the correct height and weight, but also able to pass the 5 point test.
At 7, your child is no where near adult size. He can't sit back against the seat and have his legs bend at the knee and his feet flat on the floor.
