  • My sons go to sleep at 7:30 (they are 20 months and 4 yrs). We have dinner, then bath, then watch Dora, then brush teeth, read a book and then bed. It's a routine that usually starts at around 6 pm

  • they are 7, and 8, and 14, it takes me about 5 minutes from them saying goodnight, to giving them a kiss and hug, to lights out.

  • From start to finish of bedtime routine? For my 2 yo and 8 month old it's about 15 minutes and they go to bed at 7:30. For my 13 yo, about 2 minutes - he tells us goodnight and gets in his bed at 8pm, by choice. For my 9 and 11 yo's, 30 minutes - because we read together, usually 2 chapters/night so it depends on the book; but if there's ever a night that I can't do it for whatever reason I can just tell them to go to bed and they will go straight up.

  • OMG -- this has been a NIGHTMARE lately! I Put my 4 year-old DD to bed at about 8:45 (she gets up at 6:45am) -- but recently she has been complaining that she "cant" fall asleep -- so she sings/plays in her bed for over an hour after being put to bed! It's that darn 2-hour-nap her preschool insists on giving daily!

  • When my kids were little it took all of 5 minutes to get them to bed, even when they were babies. Bed times were never an option in my house. They are now 11 and 17. My 11 year old goes to bed at 9, she seems to take longer, but she's the one that pays the price for not getting enough sleep.
