Do you have to prepare special recipes due to someone having food allergies?

  • I would think that you just have to make sure the substance they are allergic to us not included in the diet.

  • Personally, no. But when we have family get-togethers, I do have to make sure that what I make is safe for our nephew to eat, or make a seperate thing for him.

  • We buy everything peanut/Tree nut free as my dd has an allergy.

  • I do, I am allergic to raw onions, and banana's. So I have to go out of my way to avoid them both. MY friends and family know and try to help out. I just watch what I eat. My DH doesn't like onions, and is also allergic to banana's

  • I used to have a son that couldn't have dairy products but he's outgrown it! I have a cousin that we have to prepare things for due to allergies.

  • No, but when we were first married, dh convinced me he was allergic to cucumbers. I finally mentioned it to my mil, and she said, oh, no dear, he just doesn't like them.
