My boyfriend just moved back to Ny because we r just not meant to be together but we have a 4 month old baby boy who loves his daddy very much & lights up when he walks in the room & starts smiling & kicking his feet in excitement. Is he going to notice he is gone? Will this affect him?

  • Yes, every effort should be made to have the dad connect with his child in some form, a call, card, visit anything to support the child as he grows up. If this guy is not a good person, unable to connect with his child or if he has habits that would cause harm to the child then the relationship should be discouraged or whatever contact made, if the man is not stable, supervised visitation by a responsible person. He has legal mandates to help to support the child, raising a child alone is an awesome responsibility. If contact cannot be made the child needs to know, yes you do have a dad and..... I wish you well as your journey is long but you have a child that needs and loves you. Good Luck
