Does water really help with weight loss?

I was told that if you drink lots of water every day, it helps with weight loss. Is this true, or just a myth?

  • Yes. especially when it used in a combination with protein and fiber. Water will bulk up the fiber to make you feel and actually be fuller. Protein will break down slower and keep you from getting hungry quick. Those 3 things always used together is a wonderful weight loss aid. Peanut butter on whole wheat toast with water. Boiled eggs, salad and water Lean chicken, brown rice, steamed vegetables, water. 3 easy good meals that will curb appetites and keep the belly full.

  • I believe it is true I gave up sodas and drink more water but don't over do it bc you can also get water intoxication it can make you sick and maybe die. try googling it. GL I lost 40lbs just by making that change ;)

  • You have to drink a lot of water to drink too much. Changing out calorie filled drinks for water helps b/c you're getting less calories, it helps make you feel fuller and it helps keep you regular. Water is just plain good for you!

  • Very true. If you're meeting your RDA (which is 11 cups a day, including water from foods), you'll be more full. Also, you should be drinking water instead of caloric beverages. Water also helps your body flush out toxins and other things that can make it more difficult to lose weight. Fatigue (feeling tired) is the first sign of dehydration, and fatigue will keep you from having the energy to do a lot of things, which means you'll be less active, which means you'll hold onto more weight. So there's more to it than simply water helping with weight loss. It affects a lot of things. It's more important than many people realize!

  • YES! 

    Water can also stops you confusing hunger and thirst. It can be very easy to think you are hungry when in fact you are very thirsty.
    also water moistures the skin and makes it more radiant and supple.

  • YES!!! water is SOOO good for you! Replace that soda you think you have to have with water and you will be so much better off. Make sodas and juice treats that you have occasionally, once or twice a week - not everyday! Water is for everyday and all day!! after coffee of course! I love my coffee!! :)
