  • i am more then sure it is... but i don't think you should ever be envious of others... i know i'm not... i'm just happy they are doing well and go on with my life cause in the end that is what really matters.

  • Of course it is possible. It is not good but it happens.

  • That's why there is the phrase "sibling rivalry." Siblings can become competitive depending on what environment the parents encourage. There are some families that help one another and focus on collective success of the entire family and then, there are some families where the parents (knowingly or not) encourage competition for attention and make love conditional on external success. When parents place the focus on character, sharing and support, there is less tendency for jealousy. Sometimes, people also have disorders due to biological bases that are beyond a parent's influence which could affect behavior. When you know someone is jealous, see if you can find another way to give them the attention they seek and maybe they will back off and realize it's not a competition. Some people have never felt love and act jealous or mean as a way to get attention.

  • People can be jealous of anyone. It doesn't matter if its family or not. If you have a jealous personality than odds are you will be jealous of your family member esp if they are doing better in life than you are, but who's to say whats better ?? Everyone has different expectations in life. It just depends on what yours are :)
