What stemming behaviors does your autistic child do?

My son jumps up and down, he dosen't flap his arms but does kinda like a high five I guess and spins circles.

  • toe walking,echolalia,hand flapping when really excited,spinning to music
    He used to be ALOT worse when he was a toddler up to 6 or so
    He'll be 10 May 5th

  • My son used to flap his hands, but he's outgrown the need to do that anymore. Unfortunately, he is still very much into verbal stims and drives us all crazy.

  • Mostly he just repeats the same things over and over. He does have this fixation with touching the screws on the lightswitch plates, top and bottom, whenever he goes in and out of certain rooms in our house. And he doesn't like the carpet right after it's vacuumed and has the "pattern" in the carpet - he's always running his feet over the carpet to get rid of it!
