Can this cause brain damage?

My 5 week old has amazing head control. Well, I have his in my wrap alot and he pushes his head out to look at me. He always throws his head back and forth. Also, sometimes if i am dealing with my 3 yr old, ill notice that his head has wobbled in the struggle :( Im freaking out! Is he ok? Please, i dont need anyone telling me what i should do, i already know just tell me if he is ok :/

  • Our DD who's 3 months did that too. I'd carry her in a wrap and she'd get a little wobbly, but I don't foresee brain damage, but then again I'm not a doc.

  • I'm sure he's fine mama.
Does he scream when this happens? If so..thats a good sign its uncomfortable and causing some pain.A little gentle movement of a babies head won't hurt them. It would have to be pretty harsh and hard to cause brain damage. If youre still uncomfortable about it..I would stop using the wrap.

  • Sound like my baby girl :) She has good head control too and when I hold her on my shoulder she always picks her head up and after a bit it slams down onto my shoulder...I feel like it hurts her, but she doesnt cry and does it over and over again. She wants to look around!

I think your boy is fine!
