What worked for you DS?

We are finally potty training...he has just about got the whole idea of peeing down...although i still take him every 30 min. and a lot of times there is a fit involved he is ready. We are on day 2 of potty training and he has only had 4 accidents total in the past 2 days. But my question is...what worked for you toddler to help them be at ease to poop in the potty? Last night we put a diaper on him for bedtime b/c i really don't think he is that far ready to be in underwear at night...well immediately he pooped so i changed him and explained to him to not poop in the diaper try going to the potty so we can flush it bye bye.....well changed him and he pooped again..ugh! Just now right before nap he pooped in his underwear too.... :/ I don't know what else to do? He absolutely hates to set on potty whether it be his lil potty or the big potty with small ring to poop. :( Any advice?

  • It's hard. You have to catch them when they are ready to poop and put them on the potty. Then they see it's no big deal. My kids had issues too, but once they got it, they were fine. Good luck!

  • Most boys need to be over 2 and closer to 3 to potty train. If he hates to sit on the potty don't push it. Let him get to it in his own time otherwise it will become a moral battle and you'll lose :)
