Can I freeze them will it work?

I have a zillion white potatoes.... my dad went crazy as he does every single year with a local farmer & bought like 80lbs for the family. Somehow out of everyone I got friggin' 20lbs of them! Not only this but they arent firm & really fresh they are soft so they will be going bad long before we can eat them up!

Can I freeze them? Like peel them chop them up in pieces then boil them for a few mins & freeze them? Will they be mushy after taking them out? I figure if I do pieces then I can mash them up later on or use them in meals as the pieces like chowder. So who has done this? Will it work?

  • Well, I would think it would work... you can buy potatoes in the freezer section that you steam in the bag and then mash for mashed potatoes.
