Lost my car keys =[

Do car dealers carry an extra copy of your car keys when your buying a car? My husband drove my car tonight when he got back from the store, I havent seen my keys or even heard them jingle. I think he accidentally dropped them in the trunk trying to grab the bags. I'm gonna call the dealer and see if they have a spare. I imagine they would cause if you don't make your payments on time they can come get the car even if your not home. So if they didn't have an extra set how would they get in the car?

  • No, they do not keep an extra set of your keys. Repo is done with a tow truck. You'll need to call a lock smith that can open your trunk.

  • Hmmm... I don't know, but you can always pray to St. Anthony.

  • No, dealers do not keep spares. You buy the car, you buy all the keys they have too. You'll need to call a locksmith - they can open the trunk to see if the keys are in there, and if they are, ask them to make you a spare or two. If they aren't in the trunk, they can make a brand new key (which costs more) and also a couple of spares.

  • I found them! They were in a very odd spot. I think I'm gonna invest in a key hook...

  • A key hook and copies of your key! Glad you found them.

I think St. Anthony is supposed to be the patron saint of travelers or something.
