What would be some acceptable nail colors for an interview?

I want to do my nails at home, other than a french manicure (which I am very bad at) are there any other acceptable nail colors for an interview?

  • something light or earth toned. You don;t want 'wow! check out my nails' in a an interview! Save that for Girls night out!

  • No color ... maybe just some clear polish or a french manicure. And make sure your nails are not too long. Ick.

  • Very light colors or clear, nothing that will draw attention to your nails.

  • Clear, pale pink or maybe a pale shimmery coffee/gold.

  • Clear.

  • depends on where you are going.
If you are applying at a salon, you want them noticed.
If you are at a bar applying for bartender, it won't matter.
If you are at a daycare, you might not want color.
I say, skip color completely at the interview and observe the other employees already working there.

  • Honestly, I don't think the color itself will matter. What will matter is are they chipped or messy? You want your nails to be clean, and well manicured and looking good... No matter if they are pink, purple or red, they can look beautiful and be appropriate, BUT if they don't look like you care for them, it's not worth it. So IMO, color itself won't matter, it's the overall appearance that counts.

  • Netural tones are what you want. NEVER use red's or purples or hot pinks or green colors. You never get a 2nd chance to make a first impression.

  • It does matter actually, if you are looking for a professional positions. I had mine done black with the white crackle and asked a business professional their opinion before I went on an interview, they said YES, you need to go with something light colored. Nothing that is extremely noticeable. They do look at that type of thing.

  • Yes, they do look. Clean, well manicured even nails. Well lotioned & supple hands. Light or clear polish. Something that matches your outfit that your wearing. Well taken care of hands are important. It says you care about details. Good Luck.
