Recycle Computers

Do I just bring an old desktop to the dump or what do I do?

  • Do NOT take it to the dump. Take it to your local Best Buy, Staples, etc. You may have to pay a small fee, but there are components in your desktop that are TOXIC if put in a dump and these stores will get it to a proper recycling facility.

  • You can also call Dell - and for $10-15 bucks they'll arrange to pick up your old computer for recycling - monitors, keyboards, cpus.

  • look around online. There are plenty of repair places locally that love old computer parts. You could also put them up on Freecycle if your area has it. Better could part out your computer and sell the components. I wouldn't suggest paying anyone to take your computer off your hands.
