What are some original baby names for a boy?

My husband and I are expecting a child and we wanted to know what are some of the cafemom members thoughts of as original boys names that are not too far out as well. I'd rather have actual suggestions than picking out of a book. Thanks in advance.

  • It really depends on your taste. Babynamewizard.com can show you the popularity of names so you can look up the names you like and see how common they are. We are trying to name our 3rd son right now and having a ridiculously hard time with it. Just start making lists and see what you come up with.
I personally like Emery, Loren, Silas, Ashby, Alton, Chandler, Dexter, Felix, Galen, Huxley, Perry, and Whitby, just to name a few that have been on our list at some point this pregnancy.

  • I have a friend whose son name is Slade. I always thought that was a pretty original name.

  • I wanted to name a son Evan Alexander but the poor kiddo would have the initials of E.A.T.. that would be a no go :-(
    Zachary Ian (again, Z.I.T)
