Do shapeups really work?

Does anyone have the new shape up tennis shoes?

  • I like mine. Have never had any joint problems because of them......but, I was in very good physical shape before getting them. Mine are the Reebok brand and they're really comfortable. It feels like I am walking on a giant cushion! As far as the "toning" effects? Blah. don't see or feel a difference. I guess I wouldnt specifically buy them in an attempt to lose weight/tone up, but like charlotsomtimes said, whatever gets you up and gets you moving!

  • i have the reebok easytones, the ones with the rounded bottoms. those work on a different level because it's a matter of holding yourself up. i love them and wear them every day, and reebok easytones are cute. shape ups are the ugliest shoes i've ever seen

  • I threw my first pair away. They suck imho. They ruin your knees. I had to go to Physical Therapy over them. I heard they redesigned them and are better so I tried again since I have heel spurs and they do keep me from pounding down on my heel but again they are hurting my knees. My doctor said they are rolling my ankles inward. I thought it was just me but watched someone else walking in them as well and her's did the same thing. I've purchased to different brands, too.

  • I've heard that the shoes don't actually help- but it's a psychological thing- people *think they help which makes them get up and walk or whatever, so in that sense yes

  • the reebok ones don't make ur ankles go crazy b/c they're not platforms like the cheaper brands...they work but it's not a dramatic change, just slight and you can feel them working too

  • I heard they can really do damage to your back. I would get the reebok easy tones.
