  • I am the same way .... I dont think I am allowing my kids to wonder around until they are around 12 ... and even then there will be only certain places and times when they can.

  • The only place he can go is in our fenced yard, and I still will only let him if I can hear him,, never ever at a park or in the neighborhood.

  • 13 that's almost a freshmen. I think that'sa little crazy i would have been embarrassed if i wasn't allowed to ride my bike a few blocks away from home in jr. high. idk i was outside all the time i wasn't allowed to go far but i could walk to my friends house maybe 3 houses down at 7. and i was gone all the time  blocks away once i was in the 5thgrade but i had to be home before the sun went down. my dd is six and i let her play ousidein my yard with her friends but alone no i wouldn't and out of the yard no. maybe when shes 9 or 10 ill think about further destinations.
