Legal?

Okay my mom said something to me about this. Getting a car attachment for a truck and having my brother and two kids sit in the car while I drive the truck! I don't think it is legal?

  • I'm not a lawyer and I don't play one on tv, but I know the rules about people (adults OR kids) vary from locality to locality. Check with your locality.

In NC where I was raised the law varied from county to county based on how populous the county was.

Offhanded, though, it sounds dangerous and not likely fully legal.

  • Sounds pretty illegal to me, not to mention stupid and dangerous. The ONLY vehicle I know of that you don't have to be in a seat belt for is a motorhome; the big ones with beds and that look like charter buses.

  • Well doesn't sound illegal or dangerous because I had to have my car towed that way. Too many people to ride in the tow truck so tow guy said we can just chill in my hoopty, lol, while he tows us to our destination. But like others said check the legality in county first.

  • Depends on the state, but likely not legal in all. People are generally not allowed to ride in something that is hitched to a vehicle.
