Does anyone else find this ridiculous??

ok so first of all this may apply to only people that live in the south who have previously or were raised in the north. why is it that when they call for a thunderstorm or heavy rain they act like the apocalypse is gonna happen??? why the hell do you feel the need to bombard walmart or whatever local grocery store is available and prepare for the end of days?? ok so i had to go to walmart earlier tonight b/c we were out of milk the weather man was saying we were gonna get a heavy thunderstorm later tonight. AGIAN LATER TONIGHT!!! no tornado warnings no this is the end people just a thunderstorm and when i get to walmart the first thing i hear is from a customer telling me that if i need a buggy i have to get it myself b/c there are no more inside and the employees are refusing to come out in the "weather" it hadn't even started raining yet!!! so i go in and it is mass hysteria!! people everywhere panicking and rushing to get milk bread water and whatnot b/c of this thunderstorm!!! the only reason why i got milk at all is b/c i walked my cocky ass into the cooler and asked the guy to give me one b/c i wasn't gonna wait out this mass hysteria and his reply?.. i am afraid of when i have to tell them the milk is all gone!! what the hell people!! it's a thunderstorm!! i could see if it were something really serious but not even a tornado warning or anything!! but it get's me thinking if the tornado wipes out your house whats the good in you having that 12 cases of water or 10 loafs of bread anyway??? anyone else fed up with this mass hysteria??

  • Thunderstorms bring Tornadoes that's why
    _______

Not always. Certain conditions need to be met before a tornado can be produced from a thunderstorm. Not every thunderstorm has the possibility of producing a tornado.

  • I used to work at Publix years ago--soooo funny!! We would get so busy in the rain, old ladies would put plastic bags on their head. Whenever it would drop just a few degrees, they would dress like they were going in the Andes Mountains!!

  • Layh41407. In the south, you never know when that thunderstorm will have a tornado attached to it. Most people are not thinking the way you are.

  • most people in the south know what to look for...this was not going to produce a tornado they even said that already a miliion times b/c the same storm already had went thru nashville and was heading our way. It was just gonna be rain and thundertorms. And yes it did look pretty dark and spooky outside (which i thought was cool anyway) but now that its over i can say that it barely even rained here!!! It rained pretty hard for like a hour and then turned into regular rain and then petered off. So no major catasstraphies here!
