Does a Singer Serger sewing machine sew a normal two thread stitch as well?

I notice it has the stitch where it uses three threads, but can it also sew with just the two thread stitch?

I hope this question makes since.

I am used to using a regular sewing machine and not one that requires three threads, the book doesn't seem to cover much about this.

  • Not usually. A simple serger machine (the least expensive kind) is usually dedicated to serging only.

  • I do a lot of sewing and I have never seen a serger do anything other than the serge stitch
