What all do you put in your lasagna?

I started experimenting with making lasagna homemade but it's still not hitting the spot for me.  How do you make yours?

  • Ground beef, italian sausage, chopped onions, garlic powder, parsley, basil, oregano. Add 2 lg. cans of tomato sauce, can of chopped italian tomatos (already seasoned), simmer. Cook noodles. Separate bowl I mix Ricotta cheese (find next to cottage cheese in store), mozzarella cheese, parsley, parmesan cheese. Layer meat & cheese, save enough sause for top and spread mozzerella on top and bake

  • Thatsounds really good Kathy675. One recipe I use is basically like yours but it also calls for finely chopped spinach ( 1 cup)and salami ( 1/4 cup) Parsley and one egg mixed with cottage cheese ,ricotta ,and mozzarella cheese. I am getting hungry now....LOL.

  • Ricotta cheese makes the lasagna, in my opinion. I just buy it from our grocery store.

  • noodles, meat, mozerella cheese, ricotta cheese and parmesan cheese. It's kind of plain but that's how my family likes it.

  • Sauce, Italian sausage or mini meatballs, mozz cheese, parm cheese, ricotta cheese (NEVER cottage cheese). Make sure the sauce is seasoned. I have also put sliced hard boiled egg in the layers. I make it the way my Italian grandma and great-grandma taught me. No measurements, all my sight and taste.
