They're not a good idea. You're better off adding more water and fiber (go slowly with fiber) to your diet. These "cleanses" don't actually do anything for you, particularly in the long term. They're a waste of money and time spent on the toilet, only to build back up. It's unhealthy to empty your colon, and the only reason to do so is under direc medical supervision, like preparing for a colonoscopy. Otherwise, it's highly advised NOT to do them.
