  • NOPE - Both of mine got theirs in 1st grade, they are now in 2nd grade. It's not an all day thing though, we limit them on their use of it.

  • No, my ds is 3 and has one,he has the educational games from sesame street. But he also has an iPod touch for things like tracing his letters, and numbers, and learning his colors.

  • My son is 7 and got a used DS Lite for Christmas. He has since lost all privileges playing it because he can't take care of his things.

  • IMO-yes
I'd rather see kids these age using their imaginations to play

  • my dd is six and she has one we just have a time limit and have rules she has to read two books before playing. shes the type that would rather be outside so i dont mind when she plays it.

  • No, but it would be something he would have to ASK to play with. It wouldn't be going everywhere and everywhere with him, and wouldn't be left sitting around to get broken. I'd keep it away and when he wanted to play it I'd bring it out. Same with all expensive electronic toys.
