  • Taking her to the Dr? I wouldn't worry about it too much unless she looked sickly thin. My middle daughter has always been an itty bitty thing, and she's "healthy". (She's got some food allergies, and other allergies, and some other stuff, but health-wise, she's good.)

  • Funny you should ask. I weighed my 2 year old this morning and she weighs 31 lbs. My 3 year old weighs 36 lbs & MY 5 year old weighs 47 lbs. My friends son just turned 2 on Sat and at his Dr appt today, he was 28 lbs

So I think your little on is right on track.

  • Oh, also keep in mind...they will start thinning out at this age. They are much more active now that they are running around.

  • My 2 1/2 yr old (she'll be 3 in sept.) weighs 39lbs and my 4 yr old weighs 41 lbs.

  • My son is 2 1/2 and weighs 33 pounds. He only weighed 30 pounds on his birthday, but boys are typically bigger than girls, so I wouldn't worry. Sounds like she's doing just fine. If she has a good appetite and is growing even a little, I wouldn't worry. Doctors are more concerned that they are making progress, not how much progress they are making. Plus, they do thin out around now since they are so active and a lot of their calories are going into building their height too. At least that is what it seems like. :)

  • My 2 1/2 yo weighs 27 lbs. Her heightweight ratio is much more important than her weight alone. She should be weight proportionate. My son is around the 25-50% for both height and weight, so he's right in the target range.

  • I can tell you we spend alot of time on this question in my house. My daughter is underweight and uses a feeding tube so we see a GI and dietician regularly. She turns 2 on the 24th of April and at last weeks appt they told me at this time she should be weighing 25 or 26 pounds. Sounds like your daughter is doing great :)
