what to use as a crock pot lid?

I just dropped mine while washing it, it shattered everywhere. Its one of the ones that's pretty big and elongated, not round. So what can I use for the lid, I wanted to make chili but I guess I'm not now!

  • Heavy duty aluminum foil or a cookie sheet that you've turned upside down.

  • Thank you, Ill try the aluminum foil, considering I don't have anything to fit over the top...do any of you know if I can order a new lid, or would it just be cheaper to get a new crock pot?

  • I agree. Foil will work best until you can get a new lid/pot. I would maybe trace the top of it on paper and then go to the store to see if you can find one that fits?

  • I would substitute either another big glass bowl of some sort or a cookie sheet as someone else suggested. Or I'd probably run to good will and see if there was one there. LOL

  • At this time of year it would probably be cheaper to get a new one rather than replace the lid. Many stores have these at really good prices at this time of year.
