Wondering if it is true once you have confirmed a heartbeat does your chance of m/c go down??

  • No, there is still a risk, but once you hit 12 weeks the chances go down.

  • It would seem like it but no. Some people know earlier than others and hear it sooner but that does not have a connection to the miscarriage rate.

  • No, it's not true. My friend had 3 miscarriages and one was past the 14 week mark.

  • My Dr. told me that once there is a heartbeat is does decreases your chances. He said at that point you have a 5 % chance of miscarrying!

  • I was told by my dr that your chances of miscarry decreases significantly once a heart beat is heard/seen. Then next decrease in probability is the end of the 1st trimester.

  • yeah the risk goes down at 12 weeks but there is a chance all the way up until 20 weeks and then it's called still born :(
