  • My mom, dad, entire family LOVE my husband.

I only wish his family were as great with me as my family is with him.

  • Yes. He was the one who suggested she move in with us when our daughter got married, and moved out. Of course, like any family dynamic, they get on each other's nerves, and I feel like I'm put in the middle, but it's never anything we can't work out.

  • Same here Orionsgirl. Although we I also get along with his family, sometimes his mom drives me nuts.

I think he has the better end of the deal on the MIL part.

  • Yes, my Mom thinks the world of my husband. My sister's not so lucky though. Mom can't stand her DH, and they've been happily married like 28 years. He's done nothing to offend or upset her. She just disapproves of him because they got married right out of high school and he's never had a "good" job, even though they get by just fine.

  • He understands her. I think she has a few issues with him, but she is polite.

  • Yes.. my mom loves my husband very much.. They get along so well, some people have mistaken him for the son and me for the DIL... lol

Even though my husband and I are one of the few couples in either family to have a "love" marriage instead of an arranged one.. If for any reason, either set of parents (or both or just one parent) had any issues/qualms/doubts etc.. about us being married. We would have never married.
