  • Our son was told that he could date at 16..

At almost 20, he still hasn't really dated. He has female friends however he does not date. Mainly because he has requested an arranged marriage and has no interested in a relationship/marriage for several more years.

  • Since dating is for the purpose of selecting a marriage partner, children should not date until they are mature enough to be married. I think nowdays, that would most definitely be after high school graduation. Our children did have friends of both sexes, but they pretty much entertained them in our home. It provided wonderful opportunities to teach about character traits and what's important to look for in a marriage partner. It worked really well for our family!
