Is Stage 2 formula necessary?

My son is turning 6 months on Dec 14th..I've noticed a Stage 2 formula by Nestle the stage 2 say's 6+ months (he's on the reg one with omega's it say's birth to 12 months) I'm wondering if it's even necessary to switch, he's just started solid's and he's reacting really well. Just thought i'd ask on here before I ask the doc! I'd like to hear from other mommy's what they've done and how thing's worked out!

  • No. My doc said I could if I choose to, but there wasn't any real reason. He said to just keep on the reg. and switch to milk at a year.

  • No you dont need it. Mine stayed on breastmilk plus regular formula until they were 1.

  • It's not neccessary. Just breastfeed or formula feed along with baby food until his first birthday then switch to whole milk.

  • do not use it . Continue using regular formula until your child is one then switch to whole milk. Stage 2 does not have the nutrients a baby needs like regular formula does and when they are older whole milk is better for them.
