Do you buy generic food/cleaning supplies?

I buy generics as often as I can when there's a big difference in price. One thing I won't buy cheap is laundry detergent...I have to buy tide. What do you buy generic? Are there any name brand products you can't live without?

  • I buy generic whenever I can. There aren't many things I wont do generic on but if I do find a product that works better than generic then I do spend the extra money.

  • I buy everything generic unless I can afford name brands. I buy mostly great value food brands, angel soft or white cloud toilet paper, XTRA laundry detregent and Suavitel fabric softener. I will also buy great value cleaning products or dollar store brand. It's cheaper but has the same quality as the name brand stuff. If I can afford it, I buy gain original scent liquid laundry detergent.

  • Yes!!! It is cheaper often than a coupon with brand name and on sale. We have Wegmans here and their products are particularly good. They also make a lot of unusual and kind of high end products.
