  • Gender is determined by the fathers xy chromosomes. I highly doubt there are other factors involved in determining gender.

  • No it's NOT true. The mans sperm determines the sex of your baby. PERIOD!!!!!!! NOT when you ovulate

  • Sorry, but its all on the man and his sperm and NOT WHEN or HOW or WHAT TIME you have sex. I have a friend that wanted a girl so bad, she had her husband's sperm tested genetically - several samples - it they never found the girl chromosome in his sperm. I just laughed and said it was a good thing they had money and medical connections. They only had 1 child because she didn't want another boy.

  • Ultrasounds are not always 100% correct when determining the sex of your child. Good luck and hoping for a healthy baby for you.

  • From what I've read, it seems that there are 'male' and 'female' sperm (i.e certain sperm carry the X or the Y chromosome). Supposedly male sperm are faster swimmers, but don't live very long and female sperm are slower swimmers, but are hardier and can live longer. Hence, if you have sex a few days before you ovulate, the male sperm are more likely to die off and the females will still be alive when you ovulate. But if you have sex on ovulation day the male sperm are more likley to reach the egg first. Granted this does not make it 100% chance of boy or girl either way, but you can increase your odds. There are some good books out there on the subject. I am 5 weeks pregnant right now off of 6day old sperm (we're really hoping for a girl). :-D Good luck!
