Not married to my SO and I can't get on his work health insurance! HELP!

What are my other options? We make too much for medicaid. Himself and out daughters are on his work insurance, obviously. Is there a fairly cheap, independant insurance I can get? I havn't had insurance for 9 months!

  • Can you get on state stuff?

  • ICK! We've been together 6 years, if we wanted to get married we would. We aren't ready. We especially wouldnt jump the gun with a courthouse wedding. We are waiting to have the money to have the wedding we want.

  • You said "we" make too much for medicaid. Do you work as well or is this just based off of his income?

  • Does your state offer Medically Needy?

  • I am going to agree with the others. Get married. You have been together 6 years and have kids together. You say you want to save to have the wedding you want and that's fine. You could just have a courthouse wedding now and then when you want and have the money you can have the wedding you want. But insurance is important and you will either be paying an arm and a leg for it or go without and have something major happen. At that point you will never have enough money to "have the wedding you want"

  • We live off of his income only and I am a SAHM.
