Do you ever feed your baby something other than baby food or bm/formula?

Sometimes I give my baby (9 months) a cubed piece of watermelon without the seeds, some rice and some bread. Is that bad?

  • at 9 months? that's not bad at all and infact you can start your baby on solids now. my 9 months my kids were eating everything i ate (within reason) just cut up into small pieces.

  • No, whenever the baby shows interest in table food they can start having it. Make sure it is all healthy, in small pieces, and soft so he/she can mash in his/her mouth. Always give the bm/formula first at this age.

  • My 9mo is starting to eat everything we eat. He had banana pancakes, scrambled eggs and a touch of hashbrowns and corned beef hash for breakfast yesterday. He LOVED it. I might give him some of the leftovers today (it's like midnight here so...later today).
The other day he had lemon pepper chicken, cheesy mashed potatoes, broccoli, carrots and peas (he LOVES peas). He's had a little of everything over the last month. My 5yo daughter started self feeding herself table food at 7 1/2 months (Thanksgiving dinner). She stopped eating baby food at 9 months (only table food and formula after that).
