Do you still call your old teachers Mr. or Mrs., or professors and doctors by their titles?

I do. I can't stop it. I now teach in the same district I attended school in, and I still call all my teachers who still teach there Mr. or Mrs.

Then my LP's best friend's dad is a doctor, and we all grew up together, but I still call him Dr. Gates. He is even retired now. LOL

I can't break the habit, and I think it would be putting me on an equal footing with them, which I don't think I'm qualified for just yet.

  • No. By the time I was in HS I didn't usually call them Mr or Mrs anything any more. I used their names. I still do.

  • I hear ya', timbrikayalamom! I was raised Old School Southern by parents from small towns. To this day I still call my elders "Mr. or Mrs." and refer to old professors as "Dr." I'm now in my 40s and would feel awkward saying anything differently.
