What do you give crunchy people for there baby shower? EDIT

My SIL is having a baby and she's a very natural oriented person and her and her husband are having there first baby in December so I have quite a bit of time to think but honestly I'm lost. Oh and it must be small enough to ship to Hawaii. She's breastfeeding (obviously sorry there answer not mine)and possibly cloth diapering.
So what's inexpensive, small and good for natural people?

Would Booby Tubes be too personal? I just remember that in my short stint with nursing that heat packs were nice.

  • Anything home-made (blanket, stuffed animal, cookies for the party) will be best appreciated.

  • I would pick out stuff thats eco friendly/ organic. Like diapers or eco friendly bottles. This seems like theregoing to be difficult to shop for so I would just to a gift card or money.

  • A hand grinder for homemade baby food, breastmilk storage bags (be sure they're BPA free), gift card for Nicki's Diapers or other cloth diaper company that sells them, homemade anything (blankets, booties, hat, picture for Baby's room, etc), organic onesies, things like that.

  • You could also send a "Mommy pamper basket" - they will have things for the baby, and probably have very specific things in mind, and it sounds like your parenting choices aren't similar as far as some of these things go. (NOT bashing either of you, just that they're different.)

However, I think it's pretty much a universal thing that new moms are going to be tired, etc. :-) So, you could send her some bath salts, a gift card to a book store, a nice fluffy towel, scrubbie, etc.

You could also do something like send her a gift card for an hour with a cleaning service (or however long) - so that she can either have them come before she has the baby to help with things like, say, scrubbing bathtubs, etc, or after the baby comes, she could have them do things like clean the windows, or scrub all the floors, or whatever.

  • How bout BURT'S BEES gift package? They sell them at walmart and it's already bagged. The item's are small enough to send over and all natural. There is different items so you don't feel like your only giving 1 gift.
