What the best way to defrost mince beef?

I've decided since hubby is working late AGAIN :( I'll cook tacco's for when he gets back, but the meat is frozen solid! I've put in on the work top now in the sun to help but is there a quicker way? Microwave? Or soak in water?

  • You don't really need to defrost it. Just put in in a pan frozen, add some water, cover it & cook it. Keep going back to it & breaking it apart as it cooks. cooking ground beef in water also takes out a lot of the fat. I always add water to my ground meat & then strain the water out.

I always make tacos this way, i never defrost the meat & it comes out great.

  • I've heard you should use cold water if you put it in water instead of warm or hot water. GL!

  • Most microwaves have a defrost setting - and that's what I use every single time.
