I love the name but I've only ever heard it used for cats. would that bother you too much to use it?

  • Sophie Jean is my daughter's best friend.. i love it! then again, my daughter is named Abigail which is a popular name for animals too

  • I've never met a cat named Sophie, but in the last several years, I've met literally dozens of human Sophies and Sophias.

  • I have heard it in popular use for little girls these days, so I wouldn't worry about it being too much of a pet name. (It was #65 on the Top 100 Girl's Names list for 2010.)

  • In my state it still hasn't made the top 100. Even Presley,Paisley and Brynlee are more common then Sophie in Utah.
