  • It depends on your beliefs. Growing up as a Lutheran, there is a Good Friday service that we attend that evening.

  • Good Friday is not a Holy Day of Obligation. It is, however, a day of strict fasting and abstinence.... for Catholics any ways. To me, it's just the Friday before Easter. ;o)

  • In the Byzantine Catholic church we go to a church service in the morning where we lay out the shroud (full size icon of Christ after he was taken off the cross) followed by an all night vigil through until Saturday night. We have people praying continuously at the "tomb" of Christ. We also follow a strict fast, often of just water and bread. We don't go out shopping, or do anything fun. It's supposed to be a time or reflection and prayer.
