  • Ok, a quick google search came up with something called onychoptosis it is caused mainly by a fungus and the nails will keep falling off until it is cleared.. About 3-5 percent of the popualtion have experianced this. Injury is the number one cause for nails to fall off while running is also a cause. Since your LO is a baby I don't think either of the other two are the cause.. Now that you have a name, read up on it and see if it sounds like what your DD has; if so go back to the Dr or podiatrist (sp) a foot Dr and see what they can come up with after giving them a name.. Best of luck to her :)

  • Other causes could be anemia, diabetes and other medical conditions so if this doesn't fit make sure they test her for other issues that can cause this.. Sounds like you have some homework to do so you can stand up for your DD until they can give you a proper DX and treatment..

  • Try another dermatologist who specializes in rashes or maybe a podiatrist would have some insight.
