Desert recipe

Looking for a new desert to make or a fun twist on an old tradition. Anyone wanna share??

  • Pampered Chef has a really good dessert pizza recipe made from sugar cookie dough

  • cactus bread. its pretty simple.

    ~cactus bread~

    1 package of Pizza crust mix
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
    1/2 stick of butter

    1) Mix and prepare Pizza crust as directed on the package.

    2) cut butter into sugar and cinnamon.

    3) press Pizza dough into a greased pie pan, sprinkle the sugar onto the prepared Pizza
    crust and Bake 20 minutes at 375 degrees.


    1 cup of powdered sugar
    2 Tablespoons of butter, melted

    1) When the cactus bread is all done and cooled, mix the following frosting ingredients, stir
    melted butter into the powdered sugar first, keep adding milk by the teaspoons until it
    resembles runny frosting but thick enough to stick onto your spoon. Drizzle on the frosting.

  • Fruit pizza 1/2 cup butter, softened
    3/4 cup white sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon cream of tartar
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
    1/2 cup white sugar
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
    In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 3/4 cup sugar until smooth. Mix in egg. combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt; stir into the creamed mixture until just blended. Press dough into an ungreased pizza pan.
    Bake in preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool.
    In a large bowl, beat cream cheese with 1/2 cup sugar and vanilla until light. Spread on cooled crust.
    Arrange desired fruit on top of filling, and chill.

  • Monkey Bread 2 (7.5 ounce) packages refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
    1 cup packed brown sugar
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
    1/2 cup chopped nuts
    1/2 cup maple syrup

    Cut each biscuit into quarters. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Dip biscuits in butter, then roll in sugar mixture. Layer half the biscuits in a 10-in. fluted pan; sprinkle with half the nuts. Repeat layers. Pour syrup over top. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately invert onto a serving platter. Serve warm. Refrigerate leftovers.

  • There are a few names for this: man cake or as my DH calls it "cake pie"

    1 pkg yellow cake mix
    1 can pie filling (cherry works best)
    2 sticks butter

    pour pie filling in 13x9 dish
    sprinkle cake mix on top
    cut butter into small slices and cover the mixture

    bake at 350 for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
    Best warm, delicious with ice cream on top!
