How much are we to feed a 7 month old ?

what do u suppose is a good dietary plan for a 7 month old ? my son takes 3 meals of solid (the gerber food-- 2nd stage) mostly i make my own but i use the 3.5oz of those gerber compartments for the amount because he doesnt eat more than that. apart from that he takes 2 bottles of formula milk, 4 oz each. is this okay or do i need to increase his food? i understand we shouldn't over stuff babies and they eat according to their own will but he has been following this diet (im talking about the amount) since months. he's not ready to increase food although babies month or 2 younger than him take more food than him (my friends' babies).
even if im thinking wrong please do let me know how much does/did your 7-8 months eats or used to eat ? thanks in advance :)

  • He needs WAY more formula and not so much food. Formula should be his MAIN source of nutrition until at east age 1. Food should only be supplemental. He should be getting around 32oz of formula a day. He should get FULL off formula and eat solids for fun. In fact, at seven months, I'm betting he can sit up and eat little bits of finger foods.

  • Baby's also don't need water. They get fluids from formula or BM.

  • Stop solids altogether and keep trying with the milk. You could be under-nourishing him. Give 4 oz bottles more often then.

  • oh i give him water once or twice a day. about 2-3 oz. i did mention this to his pedi but she's saying it's fine, like i said it's been over 2-3 months now and he's not increasing his diet so i was wondering i'll ask the expert moms themselves :)

  • OP... oh he doesn't drink formula :( i make 8oz of bottle (because he was drinking full 8 oz. for a handful of weeks.. touchwood) , but then he stopped. im literally stuffing bottle in his mouth after he drinks 4 oz. but he clamps his mouth tightly that i have to stop the torture !! :-s
so that's why i switched him to solids (and even that he doesnt like to eat too much.. but better than milk i guess.. so that's good enough for me !!)
32oz of formula is an understatement !!! he drinks 10-12 oz. in a day (16oz on a good day)
